Does anyone have knowledge of the now unsupported PageMaker?

I know that PageMaker stinks, but can anyone explain why when I put a .tif file into PageMaker from Photoshop the CMYK gets completely thrown out of whack (a lot of red comes through). The color is fine in Acrobat, but the picture gets distorted. Can anyone give me some advice? I’m attaching the picture.

Ring Around the…

Sun! Have you ever seen a rainbow like this? We experienced a circular rainbow while on vacation in Cancun this past week. I haven’t done any research yet…anyone know why, how or when this occurs? It was unbelievably fascinating!!!

Not a bad shot from my little digital camera either, huh? Of course, I was blind for the next few minutes!

Congrats to Veronica

We just received notification today that Veronica has been accepted to attend IMSA, the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Illinois, starting in the fall. We are just floating on air after getting this news!

IMSA is a very unique high school in that it is a public high school funded by the state. Each year they accept the top 225 applicants from around the state. The students specialize in math and science and over their three years get to study and research at places like FermiLab, Argonne Lab, the Museum of Science and Industry, etc.. Most graduates go on to study at universities such as Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Northwestern, etc..

If you want to get a better understanding of just how unique IMSA is and how much of an accomplishment this is for Veronica, go to:

Way to go, Veronica!

Elliot’s Cross-Country Trek

What a great visit with Elliot and friends Joe and Adam! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! They were very interested in learning the dynamics of the Fall family…and engaging themselves in every competition we could dream up (from the proper way to speak to pool and air hockey)! I’m so sorry we had to go away on Saturday. I understand Steve and I missed out on a great day in Chicago.

Gary – you should have a blast on Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Shay!! 30 Years of Mickey!

As Shannon’s uncles well know, Shannon received her first Mickey (their Christmas gift to her – a five foot Mickey!) when she was less than 8 months old…and she was hooked. By the time she was two years old, all she wanted was a Mickey Mouse cake for her birthday…every year! To keep the tradition alive, her 30th birthday was no different (although we surprised her with it).

Dawn and Baby Bean @ 16 weeks

She’s really starting to show!! Next month we’ll learn the sex!

"Baby Bean" @ 12 weeks…

Until the sex is determined (20 weeks), we’re calling it “Baby Bean”…

Seven Weeks and Counting!

Here’s a picture of Dawn in Jamaica…we think she’s about 7 or 8 weeks pregnant!

Happy 21st Elliot!!

Elliot – we expect a full report (with pictures) of today’s events. Hope you’re having a great one (although I hear you have classes until 9:30).

Be safe!!

My Friday- 10 days ago

So we’re supposed to post random things on here, right? With that notion, I thought I’d share how I spent my Friday before last. My friend Dennis and I headed to the beach with our dogs; well, with his dog and my “adopted” dog Floyd. Dennis recently started his own company called Paw IMprints, where he takes pictures of people with their dogs in their natural routines and surroundings (no poses here). When I take care of Floyd, I often bring him to the beach, thus this is where we headed. Here are a few of my favorite shots. I have 33 really great ones to choose from (out of 6 rolls). It was a great New England kind of day (foggy, light drizzle) at the beach!

Oh, there is a great old graveyard (circa 1600) that is located on the way to the beach. It’s a huge piece of property set directly on Little Harbor. People bring their dogs there all of the time to run around and also to jump the head stones… it’s wierd, I know.
