Crazy Few Weeks!

Two weeks ago Steve’s 90 year old mother fell in the nursing home and broke her hip. Off to the hospital we were for surgery. Then, last Wednesday at 7:30 AM  Dawn called doubled over in pain. I went over to take care of the kids and after a mis-diagnosis at a clinic (sent home with pain-killers), Dawn went to the emergency room. By 11:00 PM she was having her appendix removed.

It’s been a crazy few weeks, but everyone is home and recuperating!

My Favorite Picture!

I had planned on posting pictures of Blake’s first birthday, but we’ll have to wait a little longer for that. I can’t find them! I thought they had been uploaded to our new computer, but they aren’t. Steve is in Hong Kong & India on business and has our camera with the disk, so…blah, blah, blah. Instead, I’ll post my favorite picture of Blake…he was all sweaty with his hair slicked back but he looks so cute. By the way, Larry, you’re probably the only family member who doesn’t know this, but Dawn is pregnant again. She’s due March 3rd with another boy. How about some Penn State memorabilia if the baby is born on your birthday, the 2nd? Chris’ family has bombarded Blake with University of Illinois stuff and Dawn really wants to get the competition going. Can you help?

Baby Bean’s Last Night Inside!

Well, Baby Bean just doesn’t want to budge. So, Dawn will be going to the hospital at 10:30 tonight (Wednesday) to be induced. She had an ultra-sound yesterday and the baby appears to be about 9 lbs. That’s big enough to come on out! The process should take 24-36 hours. Hopefully I will be posting his picture tomorrow night (or Friday morning)!

Here’s a picture of Dawn from Sunday (Granddad’s birthday). She looks even bigger (definitely lower) than last week’s picture, don’t you think?!

Showered with Gifts!

Last month (I’m a little behind in blogging), Andrea and Shannon threw a beautiful shower for Dawn. About 25 friends and family members enjoyed a Saturday luncheon (fabulous food) at the Metropolis Ballroom a few blocks from Dawn’s home. Baby Bean is going to be the best dressed little boy in Illinois!

Last evening (from 10:00 PM until 2:00 AM) we spent at the emergency room. Dawn’s leg had cramped up and been numb since about 5:00 PM. Her doctor was concerned that there might be a blood clot. An ultrasound of the leg showed nothing, so they sent her on her merry way (still with leg pains). She has a month left and I fear her doctor may put her on bed rest. Her pregnancy has been fabulous, so maybe she has just pushed herself a little too much. She loves to shop everyday and she probably should not be doing that (for more than one reason).

I’ll keep you all posted of her progress!

The Expectant Couple

Future pictures will be monthly updates of Dawn’s growing tummy. Her due date is Oct. 5th (we’re hoping she’ll hold out until Steve’s birthday of Oct. 8th)!
